    For women with a successful career, it’s not uncommon to spend more than the traditional 40 hours each week working. And while you might love your job and feel like you’re doing great work, it’s important that you’re also able to find balance in your life, especially when it comes to your health.

    Many people who spend long hours working wind up doing so at the eventual cost of their health. So to help ensure that this doesn’t happen to you, here are three tips for staying healthy when you’re always working. 

    Find Small Ways To Add More Movement To Your Day

    If your job requires you to spend most of your time in an office or on a computer, it’s very likely that you’re not able to get your body moving as much as you should. Luckily, there are some simple things you can do on a daily basis that will help you get more movement during your day, even during your work hours.

    According to Ekaterina Walter, a contributor to Inc.com, one thing you might want to try is finding a way to walk and work. For some women, this might mean putting a treadmill in your office that you can set your computer on so you can work and workout. For others, you might want to take more walking meetings. 

    If you do choose to take more walking meetings or spend more of your working hours walking around your city, make sure you’re not too distracted to pay attention to things like traffic or other hazards that could get you injured on the job, too. 

    Don’t Neglect Your Sleep

    Spending more hours at work each day means that some other areas of your life might get hours cut back from them. But for the sake of your health, it’s vital that you don’t neglect your sleep or take too many hours away from getting the rest that your body and mind so desperately need. 

    For those who aren’t getting enough sleep, John Fawkes, a contributor to the Huffington Post, shares that you can experience things like feeling unhappy, overeating, being generally less productive, storing more fat in the body, having their muscles break down, and more—all of which are bad for your health. 

    Steer Clear Of Junk Food

    When you’re pulling long hours at work, you might not feel like you have time to eat real food. However, choosing to go with junk food could not only be harming your body, but it could make you less effective at work as well.

    Rather than eating something processed out of convenience, Dawn Rosenberg Mckay, a contributor to The Balance Careers, suggests that you find ways to eat real food that you’ve prepared beforehand, like a chicken salad or hard-boiled eggs.
